Why Retinol?
Most dermatologists agree, Retinol is vital to any anti-aging skin-care regimen. It decreases fine lines, evens skin tone, improves texture, tightens pores, and stimulates blood flow and collagen production. It encourages skin cell turnover to reveal new and more youthful looking skin. This in turn helps promote collagen production by removing dead skin cells so new, healthier cells are able to come to the surface. Your complexion will look smoother and other anti-aging nutrients are able to sink deep into the skin and repair collagen. Dead skin cells are tougher to penetrate, making retinol and its exfoliating properties a very effective anti-aging compound. Why Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally in every cell in the human body. 50% of our body's HA is in our skin, both in deep underlying dermal areas as well as the visible epidermal top layers. Young skin is smooth and elastic, containing large amounts of HA to help keep the skin staying young and healthy. HA provides continuous moisture to skin by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water. Vitamin C is crucial in repairing and healing skin cells. It is a powerful antioxidant that slows the rate of free radical damage that causes destruction to Collagen, which in turn causes skin breakdown and wrinkles. New research shows it even reverses DNA damage to skin that causes skin cancer. Vit. C is a necessary component of Collagen production. Therefore a combination of HA and Vit. C are vital to maintaining the skin's layers and structure. It is collagen that gives skin its firmness, but it is HA and Vit. C that nourish, protect, and hydrate Collagen. Without HA and Vit. C, Collagen loses its elasticity causing sagging and wrinkling skin. With age, the ability of the skin to produce HA and Vit. C decreases. Adding them back in with EO HC is imperative.
